Silver Toe Rings

Our sterling silver toe rings are handcrafted in 925 silver with an open band. That makes them adjustable toe rings: one ring fits most toes and can move from your second toe to your middle toe as the weather changes. For tips on getting the fit right, see our ring size guide. Wear one on its own with sandals, or pair it with a silver anklet for an easy holiday look. Every ring is solid 925 silver, not plated, and sold singly.

How to choose a toe ring that fits

Most people wear one on the second toe, the one next to the big toe. It is long enough to hold a ring securely and rarely rubs against your shoes. The middle toe works well too, and a big-toe ring makes a bolder statement.

A good fit sits just below the knuckle. It should be snug enough that it doesn't spin or slip off as you walk, and loose enough that it leaves no pressure mark after an hour.

Feet swell in the heat and after a long day, so set a slightly relaxed fit for holidays and summer. Every ring in this collection is adjustable, so you don't need to know a size before you order. You set the fit once, at home.

How to wear a toe ring

  1. Ease the band open with your fingers until the gap is a little wider than your toe at its narrowest point.
  2. Slide the ring on from the side, between your toes, and move it down to sit below the knuckle.
  3. Press it closed gently in one smooth movement until it feels secure.
  4. After that, slide it on and off over the toe rather than opening and closing it every time. Silver can weaken if it is bent back and forth at the same point.

Why 925 sterling silver suits a toe ring

Sterling silver is 92.5% silver alloyed with a small amount of copper, which makes it firmer than purer silver. A ring worn on the foot needs that firmness: the band holds its shape while you walk, yet you can still adjust it by hand. Many of our other pieces are hill tribe silver, which is purer and softer and better suited to hands, ears and necks. Browse the full 925 sterling silver collection.

Caring for your toe ring

Toe rings meet sand, sea, chlorine and sunscreen, so give them a little more care than a ring on your hand. Rinse the ring in fresh water after swimming and pat it dry, because salt and chlorine speed up tarnish.

Wipe off sunscreen and body lotion, which leave a dull film. If the silver darkens, a silver polishing cloth brings back the shine in a minute. When you're not wearing the ring, store it in a small zip pouch to slow tarnish.

Toe ring FAQ

Which toe do you wear a toe ring on?
Most people choose the second toe, next to the big toe, because it holds a ring securely and comfortably. The middle toe also works well. A big-toe ring needs a wider band.

How do you wear a toe ring?
Open the band slightly, slide it on from the side between your toes, position it just below the knuckle and press it gently closed. After the first fitting, slide it on and off rather than reshaping it each time.

Are your toe rings adjustable?
Yes. Every ring in this collection has an open, adjustable band that fits most toe sizes, so you can set the fit at home.

Are your toe rings real silver?
Yes. All our toe rings are 925 sterling silver, which is 92.5% silver. They are solid silver, not plated.

Can I wear a silver toe ring in the sea or the shower?
You can. Rinse it in fresh water and dry it afterwards, because salt water and chlorine make silver tarnish faster. A polishing cloth restores the shine.

Should a toe ring feel tight?
No. It should sit snugly below the knuckle without leaving a mark. If it pinches, ease the band open slightly. Feet swell in heat, so leave a little room in summer.

Are toe rings sold singly or as a pair?
Singly, so you can wear one on its own or mix two different designs.
