Tiffany Teoh founded Hill to Street in Kuala Lumpur in 2017. The name says what she set out to do: take the silver jewellery of Southeast Asia's hill tribes and make it something you wear every day, with jeans and a T-shirt as much as with a festive outfit.
"I wanted to bring hill tribe jewellery to everyday street style wear."
Tiffany Teoh, speaking to FirstClasse, 2020
Before Hill to Street, Tiffany spent 13 years in sales and marketing in the food, beverage and hospitality industry. She had always loved silver, especially big, handmade pieces. On her travels across Southeast Asia she bought tribal jewellery and wore it herself. Back home in Malaysia she couldn't find the pieces she was looking for, so she decided to bring them in herself.
Hill to Street started with pieces Tiffany chose on her travels, made by hill tribe silversmiths in Thailand, Vietnam and Laos using traditional techniques and patterns. She meets the makers and works with them on the more intricate designs. "For the more intricate pieces, I work closely with artisans to bring those designs to life," she told The Malaysian Reserve. Over time she added her own designs, made for Hill to Street by a small workshop in Indonesia, and a limited number of pieces handmade by us in Malaysia.
She works mainly in two metals:
"It's not fully tribal, but it's modern tribal," is how Tiffany describes the Hill to Street style: traditional shapes and techniques, worn in an everyday way and mixed with simpler pieces. The range runs from bold tribal cuffs and woven bands to minimalist and nature-inspired designs, for women and for men.

In 2020 Tiffany created Embrace the Goddess in You with Malaysian model and yoga teacher Anuja Ananthan, whom she met at a market during Hill to Street's soft launch. It was our first collection with coloured stones, made in 925 sterling silver, including the Anuja hoops set with peridot.
Tiffany and Hill to Street have been featured in BFM (Her Vantage), FirstClasse, Prestige Malaysia, Buro 24/7, Lifestyle Asia, The Malaysian Reserve, New Straits Times, The Sun, Sin Chew Daily, Remaja and Hijab n Heels. See all press →
